How the Stableford Format Works
The Clubhouse Comp uses the Stableford format, which rewards players for scoring points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole, relative to par. Unlike traditional stroke play, where the goal is to minimize total strokes, Stableford encourages aggressive and strategic play by awarding points as follows:
- 2 points for making par
- 3 points for a birdie (1 under par)
- 4 points for an eagle (2 under par)
- 1 point for a bogey (1 over par)
- 0 points for a double bogey or worse (2 or more over par)
The objective is to accumulate as many points as possible, making it a dynamic and fast-paced competition. Even if a player has a bad hole, it won’t ruin their overall score, keeping the game exciting from start to finish!
